The Mushing Life

1/9/2016

I thought this was a great article in ADN that conveys a bit of the life of a professional dog musher.  Sebastian Schnuelle, known for his wild hair and German accent, is a former Yukon Quest champ and Iditarod 2nd place finisher.  His kennel is not far from Fairbanks and, like all mushers, he LOVES his dogs.  Follow the link, view the photos and (especially) watch the video!

Hi, I enjoyed the video. It brought back pleasant memories of our sledding experience with you last winter - although no video of anyone getting dumped off their sled. The indoor dog mayhem is right up Laura's ally. Then I saw the midday temperature posted of 19° in Anchorage, 3° in Fairbanks. Not sure I'm ready for The Arctic Quest, it was an unseasonable 55° here today.
